Cryogenic Labelling — Labels that keep their adhesion and legibility even in -196 °C liquid nitrogen conditions.

Cryogenic labels are developed for environments where specimens are stored for long periods in liquid nitrogen tanks or -80 °C deep freezers. Standard labels lift, curl and lose their print in these conditions; cryogenic labels keep their structure.

The critical point is the moment of application: the label must be applied at room temperature before the tube is cooled, and the adhesive must be allowed to set. Applied correctly, the label remains legible even after repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
